2 cups flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup butter
3/4 cup buttermilk
Add dry ingredients to bowl.
Cut in butter.
Stir in buttermilk. (Dough should be sticky. If not – add more buttermilk a
little at a time being careful not to over mix.)
Turn out on floured board (table or counter) and knead gently about a dozen
or so times. Do not over knead. Dough should be soft.
Pat or roll dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut with cookie cutter (the
rim of a glass works also).
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 425 degrees for about 12 to 15 minutes or
