“The Crooked River Inn is simply wonderful! I am a very “stingy” reviewer and I am pretty sure this is the first time I have given five stars. The Inn is a beautifully restored turn of the century home and everything about it reflects care and attention to detail. Elizabeth is everything a guest could hope for, considerate, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. And then there is the breakfast! Check out the Inn’s website and look at the food pics. Everything served is as good as the photos look. Fresh tasty and the servings are very generous to say the least. ‘Nuff said. If you are in the area, this is THE PLACE TO STAY!” – July 2017
“My husband and I stayed here over 4th of July, and we could not have been more pleased. Elizabeth has created a wonderful environment, down to the small details that contribute to a memorable experience (custom-made soaps! The softest sheets I’ve ever slept on! The sort of heavenly coffee you end up talking about for years!). The house is beautiful and charming, and the hospitality — and from-scratch breakfast — cannot be beat. Out of a weeklong roadtrip, this was our favorite stop by far.” July 2017
“As much as I love my job, I always savor coming home….but this time, I felt like I never left my home. Elizabeth was so gracious and attentive. I enjoyed her company and conversation as much as I enjoyed the amazing breakfast that she prepared each morning. She even made sure that I had fresh coffee for my departure at 5am….I mean seriously who does that?!?! 🙂 I felt absolutely spoiled! Thank you!” – Michael, Grapevine, TX
“Marvelous place with a truly wonderful host. The room was really three rooms (Master bedroom, another bedroom and a private kitchen with attached bathroom; lots of room to spread out. Each room was well furnished and decorated with great mini-collections of the hostess’ interests. The breakfasts were superb. We stayed three days and enjoyed farm-fresh (actually straight from resident chickens) eggs, superb blueberry pancakes and omelets along with lots of bacon, sausage, biscuits and even popovers! Superb! I highly recommend this place as it delivered true quality and enjoyment.” – December 2016
“Two friends and I stayed in the gorgeous, unbelievably comfortable 2-bedroom suite for Thanksgiving and my 30th birthday. We were able to share Thanksgiving dinner with Elizabeth and her family (included in the booking), and I’d HIGHLY recommend this for anyone looking for a Christmas getaway…it was SO relaxing and delicious, and the family was so warm and welcoming. The house, rooms, decor, service, breakfast, and locally made toiletries (!) were all impeccable and brought me great joy despite my aging. 😉 It was hard to leave this place, even to explore the John Day and Painted Hill fossil beds and other surrounding loveliness. We didn’t do much in Prineville but it’s a great location if you want to explore Bend/Sisters, John Day/Painted Hills, the Ochoco/Williamette National Forests, etc etc! A bazillion times recommended!!!” – November 2016
“Fantastic bed and breakfast. First of all, the town is really nice. Prineville is small, cute, has great food, and is pretty close to Redmond, Bend, and Sisters, so there’s plenty to do. The inn itself is beautiful. Elizabeth is very hospitable and easy to be around. She’s engaging without being intrusive, especially nice if you’re an introvert. Plus, her cooking is excellent. My wife and I absolutely loved her chocolate chip and pecan cookies and her sour cream and lemon pound cake. Easily one of the most relaxing places we’ve stayed at in quite a while.” – Ben, Salem, Oregon
“We had such a wonderful, relaxing stay! The Crooked River Inn was perfect in every way. It was so bright, cheery and immaculate! The attention to detail is amazing. What a great location to explore Eastern Oregon! Elizabeth was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. She accommodated our dietary restrictions and made such a delicious, hearty breakfast, including farm fresh eggs! It was such a joy to hear about the history of the farmhouse and its’ renovation. Elizabeth was such a pleasure to talk with! We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be returning! Oh and the beds were so comfy…like sleeping on a cloud! What a blessing to have such a beautiful, welcoming place to stay while visiting Prineville. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Crooked River Inn. Thank you so much Elizabeth! And do take care until we see you again!” – Warmest, The Zito Family
“Elizabeth’s beautiful inn is the epitome of a 1900’s farmhouse. We had the pleasure of staying at the inn five nights. Elizabeth is an extremely gracious host. Each morning we were greeted with a full breakfast and each evening, following our daily excursions, we returned to snacks and a glass of wine. The two suites are beautifully appointed and the grounds, which include a chicken coop village and organic garden, are lovely. The inn is filled with mementos, pictures, and random finds that Elizabeth has collected throughout her colorful life. We enjoyed the inn so much that instead of going to Bend to visit our friends, we invited them to join us at the inn. We enjoyed exploring Prineville. It’s a step back in time. There are some great restaurants and vintage shops and you should definitely check out the Bowman museum and drive the Crooked River scenic route. All in all, this was a perfect stay!” – Sherry & Dave, San Jose, California.
“We had a wonderful stay on this Rodeo weekend with Elizabeth and her hospitality! The rooms are beautifully updated, immaculately clean and the house has an incredible amount of charm and personality. There was a great playhouse for our 2-year old to occupy himself while we sipped coffee in the sun on the porch. We are already looking forward to our next stay. Thank you for bringing this great spot to Prineville!” -Brad and Nicole, Portland, Oregon.
“Had a terrific pre-July 4th weekend here in the suite. Elizabeth has a beautiful home. She pays such amazing care to detail (everything from interior design to food), and is committed to providing guests with the best experience possible. My boyfriend, me and our friend had a short but very sweet time here and we’d highly recommend this b&b to anyone who’s considering staying near Bend.” – Lianne Rose Neiger, Mountain View, California
“WOW! WOW! WOW! This is a real jewel. Everything about this place is amazing. The history, the owner, the rooms and the breakfast. Elizabeth was super responsive to our reservation. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. And most importantly, she cooked one hell of a breakfast. ” – Bill, Eugene, Oregon
“I absolutely loved our stay with Elizabeth! Her home is beautiful, cozy, clean, and super inviting. She did a wonderful job making us feel at home and her presence was very soothing. The food was probably my favorite part, especially the tasty treats in the evening. We will definitely go back and I would recommend it to anyone who asks.” – Erin, Tigard, Oregon
“Everything about our stay, at the Crooked River Inn, was amazing! Elizabeth, was friendly, helpful, a terrific cook, and such a pleasure to visit with during our stay. Our room was beautifully decorated, clean, had so much natural light. We had one of the cutest private kitchenettes I’ve ever seen and having our own private balcony to relax and enjoy the sun, was the cherry on top. The Inn is walkable to little shops, restaurants, grocery stores, a historical museum, and the city’s beautiful town hall. My fiancé and I, had such a wonderful stay, and are looking forward to going back and spending more time again soon. If the place wasn’t cute enough as it is, Elizabeth’s cooking alone, would bring us back!” – Devan, Portland, Oregon
